We eat and drink to keep alive but it is increasingly apparent that what we eat and drink can have an influence on both our immediate health and our future health.

Recent TV and media surveys have revealed the lack of nutritional planning in some areas of catering and the effect that this can have on health. The proportion of the UK population classified as obese continues to grow and this correlates to an increased incidence of chronic health problems such as diabetes and heart disease. The number of people with food intolerances and allergies is also growing. We all need to play our part in improving the health of the nation.
